“Mending”

If a Stitch in time saves nine,

Can I cut out the wasted times?

If I sew my heart on new lines,

Can anyone see how it shines?

When rain pours down,

Will we run out to catch it with our hands?

Would you return to young with me?

Getting lost on sand dunes surrounded by tall, flowing sea grass.

Collecting tiny bits of blue and emerald glass

In a cardboard box.

A poor girl’s treasure,

Still a favorite beyond measure.

Arms outstretched at the onset of a hurricane,

Strong enough to stand up in the wind.

Fierce hearts come in small packages.

Snippets and mementos is how it goes…
