Electricity in the sky at 3am got me up,
looking out the window.
Turned on a song,
heard some words from a friend I never met,
He was struggling in the thick of it.
Recognized those emotions but I couldn’t throw him a net.
Can’t tell him his song spoke to my heart,
his life made all too much sense.
But he can’t hear me now.
So it’s my turn to write.
Maybe someone down the line will see these things I share.
There’s a lot of me left to stand upright.
If you’re holding on for dear life, just remember the night always passes.
Dear friend I never met,
how I wish I could have walked you out of your darkest night.
